Direct Bus From Haneda Airport to the Minato Mirai District

A direct airport bus runs from Haneda to Minato Mirai hotels and the Yokohama waterfront, skipping the train change at Yokohama Station entirely.

Direct Bus from Haneda Airport to the Minato Mirai District

The direct bus from Haneda Airport to Minato Mirai skips Yokohama Station entirely. Most online advice routes you via the Keikyu Line to Yokohama Station, then the Minato Mirai subway, a 50 to 65 minute slog with a transfer and luggage. The Keikyu Bus Haneda Airport to Minato Mirai 21 / Akarenga Line cuts that out. Board at the airport, the driver stows your bags in the underfloor hold, and you step off at your hotel or the convention centre. No second train. No station maze.

The bus runs from 08:45 to 18:45 from Haneda, with 1 to 2 departures per hour. That window is tight. If your flight lands after 18:45, or you clear arrivals after 20:00, take the Keikyu Line to Yokohama Station (roughly 35 mins, ¥330 to ¥500) and switch to the Minatomirai Line. The direct bus does not run late. For early morning departures, the first coach from Sakuragicho Washington Hotel leaves at 05:30. The last from Akarenga departs at 16:30. Plan around those limits.

Where the Bus Stops on the Waterfront

The bus calls at every major hotel and landmark along the Minato Mirai waterfront. From the airport, the order is: Sakuragicho Washington Hotel, Sakuragicho Station (landmark plaza side), Yokohama Royal Park Hotel, Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8, Yokohama Grand InterContinental Hotel, Pacifico Yokohama, and Akarenga (Red Brick Warehouse). Journey time from the airport to Sakuragicho Washington Hotel is 35 to 45 mins. To Akarenga, the last stop, it is 50 to 60 mins. On weekday rush hours (07:00 to 09:00 and 17:00 to 19:00), add 20 to 40 mins. On holiday weekends, add 30 to 60 mins.

Where You Board At Haneda

Terminal 3 is your first stop. Go to the 1F Arrivals level, Bus Bay No. 8. The bus then picks up at Terminal 2, Bus Bay No. 6, and Terminal 1, Bus Bay No. 4. If you arrive at Terminal 1 or 2, you board after the bus has already loaded at Terminal 3. Seats are first come, first served. If the bus is full when it reaches your terminal, you wait for the next one. That could be 30 to 60 mins later. Be at the bus bay at least 5 mins before the scheduled departure.

Cost, Payment, and the Alternatives

The one way fare is ¥1,000 for adults, ¥500 for children. Pay on board with cash or an IC card (Suica, Pasmo). There is no ticket machine at the bus stop and no return ticket. Advance reservation is not available. The driver loads and unloads luggage from the underfloor hold. There is no stated limit on bag size or number, but you must be able to lift your own bag onto the bus if the driver is busy. Standard airline check in bags fit.

The Rail Alternative

The train via Keikyu Line and Minatomirai Line costs ¥650 to ¥700 and takes 50 to 65 mins. That route requires exiting the ticket gate at Yokohama Station and walking to the Minatomirai Line platform. With luggage and a first time visit to Yokohama Station, budget 10 to 15 mins for that transfer. The bus saves it entirely. A taxi from Haneda to Minato Mirai costs ¥12,000 to ¥16,000 and takes 30 to 50 mins, depending on traffic. The bus is ¥1,000 and takes roughly the same time outside of rush hour.

When The Bus Is The Wrong Choice

Do not use this bus if you are staying near Yokohama Station itself. The YCAT coach runs every 10 to 20 mins from Haneda to the Yokohama City Air Terminal, a short walk from Yokohama Station, and costs about the same. It is more frequent and drops you closer to hotels near the station. Also skip the direct bus if you arrive after 18:45, leave before 05:30, or if you are carrying more luggage than you can lift alone. The driver helps, but you must get your bag to the bus.
